Preservation Point sits just 12 miles off I-75 on US-44, which makes us a really easy stopover for those traveling Florida’s nature coast. But easy access is just the start! Once you pass through the gates, you’ll find spacious concrete pads with full hookups, fast WiFi, private bathrooms, a dog park, kayak rentals, and a lakeside pavilion in your backyard.
The area around Inverness is some of the most genuinely beautiful in Florida. Crystal River is about 25 miles west, where you can swim alongside manatees in the natural springs. The Withlacoochee State Trail runs right through the area and is one of the longest paved rail trails in the state, great for bikes, walks, or just a long morning with no agenda. Ocala National Forest is also an easy drive east and offers miles of trails, swimming holes, and some of the best freshwater fishing in the Southeast.
Inverness itself is also worth a wander. Our downtown sits right along the lake, we have great local food, and the town isn’t as busy as some of its neighboring cities. But if you’re after a bit of a city day, Orlando and Tampa are both within a two hour drive. Most people find they don’t need to venture that far though. There’s plenty to enjoy right here at Preservation Point.
