RV Park Near Wildwood, FL
Wildwood sits right at the junction of I-75 and the Florida Turnpike, which is why people refer to it as the Crossroads of Florida. It’s a small town with a big location, and that combination makes it a surprisingly unique day trip from Preservation Point. Downtown has its own quiet charm, and the surrounding area has plenty to fill a day outdoors or an evening out.
Things to do while in Wildwood

Lake Okahumpka Park
Lake Okahumpka is a genuinely scenic spot, with a paved trail looping around the lake under a canopy of old oak trees. There’s a boat ramp, good fishing along the shoreline, and picnic areas spotted throughout. It’s a local favorite for good reason!

Brownwood Paddock Square
About three miles south of downtown Wildwood, Brownwood Paddock Square is the western anchor of The Villages and one of the liveliest evening spots in the area. The square is designed to look like a 19th-century Florida cattle town, with a log-cabin stage that hosts free live music every single night. Surrounding restaurants, shops, and a farmers market make it easy to turn a quick dinner into a full evening out.

Lake Panasoffkee Wildlife Management Area
Lake Panasoffkee is one of those places that feels genuinely off the beaten path even though it’s just a few miles from the highway. The lake itself is one of the larger freshwater lakes in Florida and is known for excellent bass fishing and wildlife viewing. Miles of unpaved trails wind through wetlands and hardwood hammocks where you’re likely to spot herons, osprey, and the occasional alligator basking in the sun.
After a day exploring Wildwood and the surrounding area, Preservation Point is a straight shot north on US-301 and US-44. Pull onto your large concrete pad, plug in, and wind down for the evening. Full hookups, fast WiFi, private bathrooms, and 230 acres of quiet Florida waiting for you. Short term and long term stays welcome. We’d love to have you!
